ASPERGERS/NLD/AUTISM

Aspergers, Nonverbal Learning Disability and Autism are all different, yet many doctors and psychologist do not know the difference and can misdiagnose a child. Although these are all similar it is important to know the difference with your child so you can make sure they are provided with the most appropriate education for there learning style.

DYSLEXIA

Did you know that thirty percent of the population has dyslexia? Dyslexia means, difficulty with language. A child with Dyslexia will have problems reading, spelling and writing. Dyslexia is NOT a medical disorder it is a language processing disorder and can be tested for and overcome with the proper diagnosis and education.

ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER


(with or without Hyperactivity)

Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity is also common. Many children who have dyslexia are also AD/HD but some have AD/HD alone. Often this is difficult to diagnosis since AD/HD varies in degree and symptoms. Although pediatricians can diagnosis this, they often only rely on the parent and teacher reports alone.

DYSGRAPHIA

There are different types and degrees of Dysgraphia and it is often overlooked as a difficulty for a child, yet can cause educational and emotional distress.
